"Fire"

9Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

Jeremiah 20:9 Luke 12:49

I came to send fire on earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!

Luke 12:49

2When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Isaiah 43:2

Fire is a very powerful agent. It does not and cannot keep up with cold and darkness. Fire cannot be hidden; it burns everything that can be burnt. It removes impurities and all unwanted elements. Animals in the wild always flee from an oncoming blaze; they cannot hide from it so they run away. Fire always brings a separation or division between what can and what cannot be burnt or destroyed. Therefore, fire has a divisive nature! There will always be the true and the false, and they can only be separated by God’s fire. Fire is intolerant and destroys everything it can in its wake. See Hebrews 1:7, “Who (God) makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire.” Jesus does not want us to blend in with the world, or unbelievers, nor compromise His principles or way of life and be intolerant with what the world does. Fire does not spare, compromise or tolerate what it destroys. That means God’s fire is unsparing, uncompromising and intolerant to all evil. Fire burns, Isaiah 5:24, “Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff…” The purifying fire of God always brings division between wheat and chaff, clean and unclean, holy and unholy, true and fake, light and darkness. The Holy Spirit sets believers of Jesus Christ on fire to separate and set them apart from the world.
Matthew 3:11 and 12, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I... He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire… He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
Ask the Lord Jesus to baptize you with His Holy Spirit and fire so that you can live a victorious Christian life. Some young people have been banging their heads against the wall in frustration and hopelessness. They find themselves doing what they don't want to do, trying to stop doing wrong but fail, feeling overwhelmed and following the ways of unbelievers. They live their lives in failure, limitations and compromise. Why? Because they don't have in them what it takes to stop living their lives in sin. In order to overcome in this life every Christian will need the fire and holiness of God to live above sin and the common afflictions of mankind. Only the fire of the Holy Spirit can destroy evil in our lives. Jesus said, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:13. Are you now willing to ask God for His Holy Spirit so that you can live a holy and righteous life, or as He wants you to? Evil cannot survive the fire of the Holy Ghost. We compromise and tolerate evil and sin when we become lukewarm and cold in heart towards God. We become sluggish, lazy and uninspired. What’s the problem? The fiery zeal for Christ has gone out. Young people, we need to keep a fiery zeal for God always in our hearts! Righteousness, purity and holiness cannot stay where the fire of God has gone out. Believers, always stay hot, not lukewarm or cold. Do not compromise, tolerate, disregard or overlook anything, but take everything seriously, 1 Peter 1:13, “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober.” Evil also disguises as good. Learn this, Jesus knew no compromise. Do not risk losing everything God has promised for you. You can change today! ?
Young people, we need to keep a fiery zeal for God always in our hearts!
